BRADY SEALS RELEASES NEW SINGLE “BEEN THERE, DRUNK THAT” IN TIME FOR HOLIDAY & NEW YEAR’S CELEBRATIONS
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – November 30, 2009 – StarCity Recording artist Brady Seals is set to release “Been There, Drunk That,” the second single from his Play Time album, in time for holiday parties and 2010 New Year’s Eve celebrations. The single will be sent digitally to radio on December 7. Nine North, Jerry Duncan Promotions and Marco Music Group will continue to spearhead radio promotion.
“Been There, Drunk That” tells the story of an experienced alcoholic beverage consumer and the lessons he’s learned from binge drinking and porcelain bowl praying. It was written by Seals and Bill Whyte and almost didn’t make it in time to be on the record.
“I was done with all of the artwork and mastering of the CD when this one was conceived,” says Brady. “Bill came in with this title one day and I just about fell out of my chair. I told him that if we didn’t write it we were crazy! I love the fact that the song ends the way it does. Notice that the guy in the song tells the bartender “No thanks, Joe, I’ve been down that road. ‘Been there, drunk that’.” Seals is also creating a special dance mix version of “Been There, Drunk That” for country clubs. StarCity has partnered with Marco Club Connection for servicing and contesting opportunities.
Hot off the heels of the upbeat barroom stomper “Ho Down,” Brady’s offering of jaunty, tongue-in-cheek country songs is garnering music fans and critics alike. Country Weekly writes, “[Play Time is a] musically freewheeling and lyrically lascivious new solo album” and Roughstock.com reports, “Brady’s fourth solo album is all about having a good time and escaping the daily grind of life.”
Brady Seals embarks on his 2010 tour beginning in late January. Listen to "Been There, Drunk That" here.
ABOUT PLAY TIME: With the August 18th release of Play Time, Seals took to the studio with playtime in mind and there’s not a slow song to be found. The eleven song collection features themes of “long-legged, half-wasted” party girls, dance club debauchery, girl fights, illicit smoke breaks, pimped out Cadillacs, pick-up lines and a certain prize-winning marijuana crop – all but one song written/co-written by the ASCAP Triple Play award-winning artist. He hired musicians including Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ drummer Stan Lynch, pop icon Richard Marx and members of Hot Apple Pie. As producer, he experimented with a variety of sounds including speeding up his vocals to create a bluegrass sound and delivering two songs with a touch of country style rap.
ABOUT BRADY SEALS: Seals has successfully reinvented himself throughout his career, while always remaining true to his musical roots in rock-tinged country. At 16, Seals left his home in Ohio as a touring musician, and by 21 had scored three #1 hits with Little Texas—all of which he’d co-written, winning him the ASCAP Triple Play award. He went on to release three solo albums in the late 90’s before forming and fronting the quartet of player’s players known as Hot Apple Pie, with whom he scored a top 20 hit (“Hillbillies”). Seals signed with StarCity Recording Company to release Play Time.
